I’m often asked what my products are made from and how they’re created. Because the process isn’t always simple to explain, I’ve put this page together to give you a better understanding of how everything works.
All of my products are printed using PLA. PLA (polylactic acid) is a thermoplastic polymer made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane. While it can be recycled at industrial facilities, it is not biodegradable in everyday conditions.
PLA arrives as a 1kg spool of filament. During printing, the filament is heated to around 220°C inside the printer’s hotend, where it melts into a liquid form. The printer then lays it down in extremely thin layers — typically 0.2mm thick — gradually building up the object from the bottom to the top.
The time‑lapse videos below show this layering process in action, giving you a glimpse into how each product takes shape.
